Russian-language therapy group
Russian-language therapy group was created primarily for war refugees from Ukraine, who have been forced to leave their homes, have experienced war-related trauma, or have lost their familiar living environment. However, the group is also open to others who wish to gain a better understanding of themselves, find greater inner peace, and learn more effective ways of coping with challenging life situations.
The group meets on Saturdays and offers a safe space to share experiences and concerns. Participants will gain a better understanding of how the mind responds to stress and will learn practical self-help tools, relaxation and self-regulation techniques that help reduce tension.
During the sessions:
- participants talk about what currently feels difficult or important in their lives;
- they learn to notice their emotions, thoughts, and bodily reactions;
- simple exercises are practiced to help calm the mind and reduce tension;
- participants learn how to support themselves when feeling anxious, tired, or confused;
- their personal strengths and resources that help them move forward in life are explored;
- there are discussions on how to set small, realistic goals and take steps toward achieving them.
The group is intended for exchanging experiences and building mutual support. The work takes place at a calm pace and in a safe and supportive atmosphere. No one is required to speak more than they wish. Listening, respect, and mutual support are essential. The group uses discussions, simple practical exercises, and creative methods (e.g. images, cards, drawing). All exercises are voluntary.
The aim of the group is for participants to leave each session with greater self-understanding, a stronger sense of calm and confidence, and practical skills that can be applied in everyday life.
The meetings started in September 2025 and will continue in 2026.
If you feel that this therapy group might be a good fit for you, you are welcome to register.
