Heritage Trip to the Viking Village: Let’s Discover Estonian History and Cultural Heritage Together!
As part of the project “Support for Integration and Adaptation in Haapsalu”, we invite all target group members and interested participants to take part in an exciting and educational heritage trip to the Viking Village located in Harju County.
One of the aims of our project is to support the adaptation and integration of people from diverse cultural backgrounds into the local community.
Shared cultural excursions and discovering historical heritage provide an excellent opportunity for this. Visiting the Viking Village helps participants better understand Estonia’s historical cultural environment through authentic experiences, create new contacts and strengthen a sense of community belonging.
Programme and Schedule
- Exciting cultural programme: Throughout the day, we will immerse ourselves in the historical world of the Viking Age and learn about historical activities, traditions and ways of life.
- Heritage experiences: We will take part in authentic experiences and traditions that help us better understand Estonia’s rich cultural heritage.
- Lunch at 13:30: A shared meal will take place in the Hall of Warriors.
- Free time and picnic at 17:30: The day will conclude with a pleasant gathering at the Shield House, where participants can share impressions and enjoy some free time.
Practical Information
- Date: Monday, 6 July 2026
- Departure: At 9:00 from Haapsalu bus station
- Return: Approximately at 21:00
- Clothing: Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear, as the activities will mainly take place outdoors.
- Language: The event will take place in Estonian. Partial translations into Russian and English will be available, but voluntary contributions in this regard are also highly welcome. If you would like to support participants by translating from Estonian into English or Russian, please let Julia know.
- Additional information: It will be possible to purchase coffee, tea, water and other refreshments on site.
- Participation: Participation is free of charge for all participants.
