Discover the Beautiful Gardens of Läänemaa: A Trip to the Open Gardens of Oru

You are warmly invited to a free day trip from Haapsalu on June 15, 2026. Join us to discover the beautiful open gardens of the Oru area. Our host for the day will be Svea Stamberg, an active community member and an experienced organizer of integration projects in Haapsalu, with whom we will visit the gardens of Tammeoru, Urge and Tursa farms.

During the day you can enjoy lovely garden views and learn about the work of local gardeners. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend a day in great company. At our first stop we will also receive practical tips for taking nature photographs.

Schedule

  • At 9:40 AM, the bus departs from the front of the Haapsalu Sports Centre (Haapsalu Veekeskus)
  • At 10:00 AM: Mobile photography and nature photos at Tammeoru garden.
    At Tammeoru garden, we will admire its beautiful views. We will also try out nature photography with our mobile phones. The hostess Aile will share practical tips on how to take professional-quality nature photos. She will show which camera functions to use for the best results.   • Next we will move on to Urge farm garden. Find out more about the farm on their Facebook page.
  • Afterwards we will visit Tursa farm garden. The activities of Tursa farm are featured in the Oru open gardens Facebook group.
  • The estimated return time is 3:00 PM

The event is part of the project “Integration and Adaptation Support in Haapsalu”. The project connects local residents and new immigrants through shared activities. This garden trip offers a relaxed outdoor environment to meet new people and practice Estonian. Everyone is welcome to join!
